Elvis is Back in Town

Jay Zanier

is a world-class Canadian Elvis Tribute Artist (ETA) who has performed as Elvis for over 25 years. He is known for his authentic, self-taught portrayal of Elvis across all eras, from the 1950s rock and roll period to the 1970s Las Vegas concert years.

Career and Background

Early Life: Raised in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Zanier came from an Italian family and developed a passion for Elvis's music from a young age, starting at age eight after seeing the Hello From Hawaii concert. He taught himself to play guitar and mimic Elvis's vocal style by listening to records repeatedly.

Career Start: He began performing in restaurants and small clubs around the city. His break came when he won an Elvis competition on the CityTV show Speakers Corner.

Accomplishments: Zanier is an international award-winning entertainer who has won numerous contests across the U.S. and Canada, establishing himself as one of the top ETAs in North America. His notable titles include being crowned the Grand Champion at the Windsor Elvis Festival and the prestigious Collingwood Elvis Festival in 2007. He was also a finalist in the first-ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2007.

Performance Style: Zanier is recognized for his dedication to studying Elvis's performances and capturing the nuances of the King's style, including natural stage storytelling, which helped him win competitions with renditions of songs like "My Way".

Touring: He frequently tours as a solo act or as part of multi-performer shows, such as "We Three Kings" and "Elvis! Elvis!" often backed by bands like "Gerie and The Koasters".

Zanier continues to perform and keep the memory of Elvis Presley's music alive for fans across North America.

The Legacy Lives On Tribute Tour - CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE & Lightfoot String Quartet

The Legacy Lives On Tour features CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE bringing the songs of Gordon Lightfoot to the stage with an impressive seven-piece ensemble, joined by the Lightfoot String Quartet. The addition of a live string section expands the sound and emotional depth of Lightfoot’s timeless catalogue, elevating the concert experience to a new level.

This special performance promises an evening of powerful storytelling, rich orchestration, and a heartfelt celebration of Gordon Lightfoot’s enduring legacy.

Behind The Music: About The Band

CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE is Canada’s premier tribute to the legendary folk-rock icon Gordon Lightfoot. Featuring an exceptional all-Canadian, multi-instrument band, the show is led by vocalist and guitarist John Stinson, alongside music director and multi-instrumentalist Bob Doidge (Lightfoot’s longtime record producer), bassist Steve Eyers (Lightfoot’s nephew), and lead guitarist Eric Kidd (trained by Red Shea himself).

Founded in 2012 by lead vocalist John Stinson, a longtime Ontario musician, CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE has earned widespread acclaim for its authenticity. Stinson is praised for his uncanny vocal resemblance to Lightfoot and his meticulous attention to recreating the original studio recordings, delivering a tribute that is both faithful and deeply moving.

“Others can tell, even if they don’t know how or why John’s renditions come off as being so faithful. I’ve been told before, and many did that night, they can’t believe how well John sings Gord’s tunes.” - John Swartz, SunOnlineMedia.ca - Nov 2023.

All tickets are: $68.14 and include all taxes, ticket fees and Music Hall Improvement Fund.
